Kapda Making Plans for Federation Day

KAPDA (OSTINGELE VII) – While capsuleers will be celebrating Federation Day in space in the Dodixie System, Kapdan Assemblyman Jirtal LeSoir is inviting baseliners to his colony for the event.

“The Intaki are a vibrant part of the Federation and we are happy to play host for the celebration of Federation Day,” LeSoir said in a press conference. “Kapda’s location adjacent to Stacmon makes it the ideal choice of locations within the Intaki Sovereignty.”

According to information distributed during the press conference, the day’s activities include a pageant of fashions from throughout the Federation. Meals at a number of locations will highlight Intaki cuisine while offering natives the chance to sample dishes from the Gallente and Jin-Mei.

Children from local schools are preparing reenactments of the Gallente-Intaki first contact and the signing of the pact creating the Federation. The events will be shown live several times throughout the day and holobroadcast for those unable to attend.

“There are those who would see the Federation divided by its differences,” LeSoir said. “But it is the blending of our varied cultures that gives the Federation its strength. We are people of various histories forged together for a common future.”

Shortly after the press conference, a number of media outlets received a video denouncing the Kapdan event. The video showed a figure cast in shadow with a digitally distorted voice.

Speaking in Intaki, the figure said, “Federation Day is a ploy by the Gallente to continue to deceive the Intaki people into believing that their needs are cared for. The fact that this celebration has to be held a single jump away from Stacmon proves this. Why not hold the event on Intaki Prime? Because Traitor LeSoir knows that it is not safe to make the passage. His so-called celebration is an affront to the Intaki people and a mockery of the hardships they face due to Gallente neglect. As a member of the Intaki Assembly, Traitor LeSoir is inept at best and contemptible at worst.”

Although inquiries were made by the Eve Observer, none of the known Intaki Separatist groups claims to have created the video.

Secessionist Leaflets Found During Narcotics Raid

VAASHNAPOOR, DUUREANTA (HARROULE IV) – Acting on an anonymous tip, authorities on the Duureanta colony on Harroule IV conducted a night-time raid on a warehouse facility. Expecting to find illicit narcotics, investigators were surprised when the seized crates contained thousands of leaflets featuring anti-Federation and pro-separatist propaganda.

ILF Condemns Separatist Bombing

INTAKI PRIME – The Intaki Liberation Front (ILF) released a statement today condemning the recent bombing of a Federal Freight cargo port located on the Intaki colony of Kapda, more commonly known as Ostingele VII.

Suresha Sakaane Eionell called the bombing “a cowardly terrorist act”.

IPI to Revise Political Stance After Tumultuous Year

INTAKI PRIME – Following a year of highs and lows, the Intaki Prosperity Initiative (IPI) and its executor corp, the Intaki Liberation Front (ILF), are in the process of enacting new policies to clarify and strengthen operations in YC115, including what may be a controversial revision to IPI’s public stance on the pursuit of independence.

Through the first and second quarters of YC114, IPI pilots participated in over thirty combat and industrial operations within what they refer to as the “Intaki sovereignty”, a grouping of systems in the Placid region with Intaki at its core. “These activities were well-attended by member pilots and guests, which was encouraging,” said IPI diplomat Bataav en Gravonere. “This year we plan to return to that level of operation and make the most of recent ship specification changes.”

Seccession Bill Stopped in Committee

INTAKI PRIME – After days of speculation by an anxious public, the Intaki Assembly’s Interstellar Relations Committee has concluded its hearing on a bill calling for the secession of the Assembly from the Gallente Federation.

The committee took up the issue three days ago, but closed its chambers to the public and media. When the committee adjourned this evening, Chairman Zheet Chandrark, of Kapda, spoke with reporters in a brief press conference.

Controversial Bill Gets Committee Hearing

INTAKI PRIME – In a surprise move, the Intaki Assembly’s Interstellar Relations Committee has scheduled a hearing for the secession bill put forth earlier this year by Sahjan Assemblywoman Desri Yauvani.

The bill is essentially the same measure put forth by the Sahjan delegation every few years and calls for the Intaki Assembly to begin the formal withdrawl of the Prime world and its aligned colonies from the larger Gallente Federation.

The bill has been filed in the past, but never received the required co-sponsor to move forward. This year, Assemblyman Vishta Kenchammana, of Rohaanar, signed on as a co-sponsor in exchange for Yauvani supporting his bill limiting non-reborn births to one per couple throughout Intaki space.

Secession Vote Narrowly Defeated On Sajha

SIKKIM CITY, SAJHA (BRAREL II) – Residents of Sajha have once again voted down a measure to secede from the authority of the Intaki Assembly and form an independent city-state within the Brarel star system.

Under the colony’s legal system, the matter falls into the “external affair” category, thus requiring a two-thirds majority. When voting ended just over three weeks, it appeared that the mark had been reached with 50,000 votes to spare. However, a group called “Preserving the Union” launched a recount effort. A manual recount showed that the measure actually fell about 200,000 votes short.

New Intaki Corporation Formed

The Placid region became home today to the Intaki Liberation Front, a corporation dedicated to the creation of an independent and free Intaki state in the region.

Corporation CEO Saxon Hawke said ILF, currently headquartered in the Stacmon system, is dedicated to reaching this goal in a nonviolent manner and will explore every avenue before abandoning this course.
